Allie Whitehouse

PRESIDENT & CO-FOUNDER

Allie joined the All Fur One Pet & Rescue board in November 2018 and was a critical teammate during the establishing phase and became President in October 2021. Her love of animals started at a very young age and she has always had cats, dogs and other critters in her home. She grew up in Ocean County after moving to here as a child from Italy and raised her children here.

Allie received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rider University and her Master’s Degree in Applied Psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology. She has volunteered for various non-profits over the years and was a Girl Scout leader for over 10 years. She began volunteering for an animal rescue in 2016 and has fostered hundreds of cats and dogs over the years.

In her spare time Allie enjoys hiking, photography, genealogy and spending time with her family. She will focus her efforts on reducing the homeless cat population in the local area and enhancing education and awareness of cat ownership. Allie will strategize with and oversee the Cat Rescue & Adoptions Team and the Cat Foster Team.

Joan Foley

VICE PRESIDENT

Joan grew up in Pennsylvania, moving to the Jersey shore after marrying her college sweetheart, over 30 years ago. She is a graduate of St. Francis College (PA) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Joan and her husband are the
proud parents of two daughters. She has worked for the same small boutique elder law firm for over 20 years as the Office Manager and is a qualified paralegal as well.

Dogs were always a part of her household growing up. She and her husband have had multiple dogs throughout the years, all of them adopted from various rescues. In addition, several years ago she added rescue cats to the mix. When her daughters were younger, she was a Girl Scout leader for both of their troops, in addition to supporting them as dance mom and soccer mom. Now that they are both grown, Joan wanted to pursue volunteering at All Fur One, offering her time to help rescue dogs and cats. She also wanted to learn more about saving animals, particularly from the rescue side, as her experience had always been as an adopter.

Joining the Board of Directors in January 2021, she will focus her efforts on ensuring an enjoyable volunteer experience. Joan will oversee the Volunteer Team as well as management of the rescue facility.

Korin (Cori) Kindred

TREASURER &
FOUNDER

Cori is proud to be a lifelong resident of the Garden State, a graduate of Matawan Regional High School and Stockton University and she holds a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Her professional career includes working as a Fiscal Analyst for the State of New Jersey, Operations Supervisor for the Eatontown Motor Vehicle Agency, and Senior Accountant for Avis/Budget Car Rental. As of January 1, 2019 she became the owner of the Avis/Budget operation located in Toms River, NJ.

Having a lifelong appreciation for our furry friends, Cori has been volunteering with local and international shelters for many years and has well-rounded experience of serving in various roles such as Volunteer Coordinator, Shelter Director, Transport Coordinator, and Vice President. Cori particularly enjoys networking with fellow rescues throughout the country and internationally to locate animals in need and help them find lifelong homes.

Cori lives in Toms River with a menagerie of pets. She is extremely proud to be one of the founders and financers of All Fur One. She will focus her efforts on reducing the homeless animal population in low income, high-kill rate areas of the USA. Cori will strategize with and oversee the Dog Rescue & Adoptions Team.

Danielle Rich

SECRETARY

Danielle has lived in New Jersey and has been around a variety of animals all her life – from donkeys to lambs, rabbits, horses, dogs, and recently cats. All the animals in Danielle’s life were rescues from dangerous circumstances but with some TLC and patience, they soon became beloved family members that fostered a lifelong commitment to continue her pursuit of helping animals in need.

Danielle has experience volunteering at a sanctuary as well as AFO since our grand opening to the public, where she was glad to find a like-minded community of animal lovers. In 2019 Danielle coordinated her first TNA (Trap, Neuter, Adopt) of a small, local, feral cat colony and is agreed to foster them until they find homes, two of which she personally adopted into her family. In her free time, she walks her puggle on the beach, writes, reads, tends her garden, and practices yoga.

Danielle has a certificate in Plant Based Nutrition from e-Cornell and has been a vegan for 7 years. She has experience as an Administrative Coordinator at a non-profit organization where she organizes conventions, designs programs and websites, and manages the organization’s social media presence. She also has experience in assisting and consulting non-profits with their social media and websites.

Danielle joined All Fur One’s Board of Directors in January 2020. As Danielle continues to be an ally for animals, she is excited to have the opportunity to actively integrate herself more into the animal rescue community, expand her education on animal-related issues and serve as  AFO`s Secretary. She has experience overseeing the volunteer team for two years. She now focuses her efforts on creating an enriching environment for our rescue dogs where they can thrive and become great furever companions as well as create original marketing designs our rescue pets in a positive limelight rarely seen before in rescue. Danielle will strategize with and oversee the Dog Enrichment Team and the Marketing Team.

Barbara Grisi

MEMBER AT LARGE &
FOUNDER

Barbara spent her early years in Wisconsin before relocating in her teens to New Jersey. Over the past 25 years, she has created a home for her husband and family in Manchester, New Jersey.

She graduated the Cittone Institute in Edison, NJ and became a Word Processing Specialist. Concurrently, she was employed by the Bell Atlantic Phone Company. She quickly rose to the Secretary to the V. P. of Law & Contracts Department and was vital to the execution of anti trust contracts with casinos in Atlantic City at the time. She also supported an additional staff of lawyers and legal assistants.

Beginning in 2012, Barbara privately began fostering and providing animals with a forever home. She volunteered her time to a local rescue in 2014. She became Shelter Director in 2016. In order to further her knowledge and improve her ability to care for dogs and cats, she took online Veterinary Assistant courses and was certified in all three. She intends to continue gaining knowledge through education as it relates to animal care.

Barbara has been involved with charitable groups throughout her life. Volunteering with The Prayer Shawl Ministries at St. William of the Abbot in Howell, NJ, Barbara helped to supply blankets for hospice and pediatric hospital patients. She works to provide relief to people in need throughout the country.

Heather Mayer

MEMBER AT LARGE 

Heather joined AFO in June of 2019 as a facility volunteer. She has since joined the adoptions team, foster team, engagement team, dog enrichment team, and social media team. Heather lives in Waretown with her husband and their three fur babies! An Elkhound, Rylo, and orange tabby Simba, who are AFO alumni from 2019 and 2020, and tiny tabby Molly who they rescued in 2017. When not at the rescue, she can be found hiking, skiing, or at the beach reading.

Heather received her BA in Psychology and Special Education from Georgian Court University in 2011 and will have her MA in Communications and New Media Market from Southern New Hampshire University this May! Heather currently works at Ocean County College in the Counseling Center.

Since she was a toddler, Heather has loved dogs. When she was only three she climbed out of her stroller and walked up to a Doberman and hugged it with no fear. She was part of 4H for many years where she won Best In Show with her rescue Pit Bull mix along with many other awards for obedience training.

Mayumi Cartagena

MEMBER AT LARGE 

Mayumi is married and the mother of two teenagers and two dogs. She was born and raised in Okinawa Japan where she met her husband who is an Army Veteran and was working in Okinawa at the time with the US Military. She was working as a Professional Tour Guide at the time.

They were married in Okinawa and moved to Brick, New Jersey in Jan 2005.

Mayumi always had pets in her life and enjoyed being around animals and nature. In Okinawa she volunteered at an animal shelter cleaning, caring and feeding the animals.  She enjoyed working at the animal shelter and knew that she wanted to learn more about taking care and treating animals to improve their lives. When the opportunity presented itself Mayumi attended and graduated the Veterinary Assistant Program at Ocean County Community College. She joined AFO as a Volunteer in Apr 2021. She enjoys taking care of the pets and supporting volunteers. Her motto is Pets are part of the family, love and care for them as such.

In her spare time she likes riding motorcycles, gardening, crafts, and going out with friends.

Mary Jane (MJ) Schuler

MEMBER AT LARGE 

Mary Jane also known as MJ joined AFO November of 2020. She is a lifelong resident of the Jersey Shore.

Growing up, MJ extensive traveling with her parents, brother and sister in the family motorhome. They belonged to a group known as Family Motor Coach Association. Her family traveled the US, but her favorite place was her uncles farm in Holliston, Massachusetts. With 30 milking cows, pigs, chickens, dogs, cats and even Clydesdale horses.

She is also involved with TNR. Mary Jane has been taking care of a small colony of cats for 8 years.

Her dream as a young girl was to grow up and be a forest ranger. Fast forward she now works for a Fortune 500 utility company for 22 years.

MJ has 3 cats and a ball Python snake named Manda for 15 years.

She feels most rescue workers are unsung heroes, people that work quietly behind the scenes to help animals. They dedicate their time and energy to their animals, and that's what she will continue to do.

Kathrine Evans

MEMBER AT LARGE 

Kathrine is a lifelong New Jersey resident with a Bachelors in Psychology from Monmouth University and a Masters degree in Couples and Family Therapy from Drexel University in PA.  Professionally, Kathrine is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey concentrating her work with children and families facing hardships and difficult changes in their lives.

Kathrine joined All Fur One Pet Rescue as a virtual volunteer on the dog adoption team in December of 2020.  Soon thereafter, Kathrine became a facility volunteer, caring for the cats and dogs at the rescue.  In March of 2021, Kathrine took her first foster into her home.  Since that day, she has taken in fosters every single transport.  What started as one single foster quickly evolved into Kathrine taking in entire litters of puppies.  Volunteering in the rescue world, Kathrine found a connection between the healing that occurs in therapy and the healing that occurs in connection to animals.  Kathrine then began working as a veterinary assistant part time in May of 2021.

Combining the knowledge gained in veterinary medicine and the world of rescue, Kathrine took on more responsibilities with the All Fur One Pet Rescue foster team and became a board member in April 2022.  Kathrine is the foster team manager, continues to foster every transport, and assists in Adoption days as well.  A long-time animal lover, Kathrine has found a true passion in animal rescue, medicine, and fostering.  Kathrine’s husband and two children are an integral part of her life and the life of the animals they foster.

Dana M. Reis

FOUNDER

Dana grew up in Monmouth County and settled in Toms River, NJ in 2016.   While she originally attended Rutgers University to study Animal Science, Dana ultimately pursued a career in Operations Management in the financial industry, has worked for several Fortune 500 companies and is the Founder of Sploot! Marketing, a planning solution platform for Animal Welfare organizations.

Dana is extremely proud to have been a part of the creation of a community focused on the same goal and joined together in support of each other and the unified mission.  She resigned her position as President in October 2021 to focus forward and offer other animal welfare organizations the same opportunity for success AFO has experienced since its inception in 2018.

Lindsay Klein

FOUNDER

A lifelong Jersey Shore resident, Lindsay has always had a love of animals. Growing up, not only did she help care for her family pets, but she also helped TNR and care for a feral cat colony. As an adult, she is the definition of a Crazy Cat Lady. Lindsay has a soft spot in her heart for cats that most deem “unadoptable” and gravitates towards adopting blind, feral, and/or black kitties. She has several years of experience volunteering with another local rescue and is honored to be a founder of All Fur One Pet Rescue & Adoptions.

Lindsay graduated from Georgian Court University with honors has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is a Senior Account Executive for one of the top privately held insurance brokerages in the country. Lindsay loves to travel (her favorite spot is St. Martin and has become friendly with the staff at several local animal rescues on the beautiful island) and attends as many concerts as she can throughout the year (Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden is her all-time favorite). She will focus her efforts on fostering “hard to adopt” cats and kittens that require time and patience to become social and loving pets.

Dr. Rebecca Guglielmo

SUPERVISING VET OF RECORD

Dr. Guglielmo grew up in a small town in Southern New Jersey. She went to Drew University to earn her undergraduate degree and earned her DVM from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Guglielmo worked at Toms River Animal as an Associate Veterinarian for 7 years prior to accepting her role as Medical Director for Bayview Animal Hospital.

Dr. Guglielmo sees most all exotics (anything not a cat or dog). She has great knack and knowledge for birds, lizards, and pocket pets. She is also a member of the AVMA and AAV.  Dr. Guglielmo shares her home with cats, a guinea pig and lots of fish. In her free time, Dr. Guglielmo enjoys kayaking, the beach and hiking.
