All Fur One & One Fur All!

Adopt

Adopt!

"Be open to adopting a pet that needs you - not just a specific type of pet you think you need."

Adoption Policy

Please read our Adoption Process thoroughly.

Any adoptable animals for which we are accepting applications from the public will be on the Available Dogs and Available Cats pages. Please read through our Application & Pre-Approved Adopter Policies carefully.

Our Adoption Process

We encourage anyone interested in adopting a rescued pet CURRENTLY in our care that is looking for a home to submit an application!  We do NOT accept applications to adopt pets from us in the future as we cannot save animals in danger of being needlessly euthanized in other shelters until adopters bring home the pets we already promised to find families for.

Apply

01

We appreciate you wanting to bring a rescued pet into your home. In order for us to understand your expectations so we can guide you to best matches, we need you to submit an adoption application.

Adoption Discussion →

02

Adoption Coordinators (AC) will reach out to introduce themselves VIA TEXT MESSAGE to schedule your Adoption Discussion.  The purpose of this is to discuss your family’s needs/wants in a pet and so your AC can offer guidance/education topics for best practices and pet considerations to ensure your expectations can be met with as little stress as possible for both your family and your new pet.

Matchmaking

03

Once you are Pre-Approved, an Adoption Coordinator will discuss available pets with you based on your preferences and provide you with details on each to ensure your expectations match with the individual pets’ personality and behavioral needs.  At that time you can commit to adopt or request to meet eligible pets.

Meet & Adopt

04

Once you have committed to a pet that matches your wants and expectations, you will be scheduled to meet (and hopefully adopt) as soon as possible!

*All Fur One does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, height, weight, marital status, housing/yard type or age of/number of children in the home.  With that, please note that not everyone who applies to adopt is guaranteed to become a Pre-Approved Adopter.

Additional Information

  • AFO is an all volunteer run, non-profit organization. We will make every effort to process your application as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us…the dogs and cats need our time and attention too.
  • We will not discuss adoption details regarding any particular pet if you are not a Pre-Approved Adopter.
  • We do not offer in person meetings for adoptable pets unless you are a Pre-Approved Adopter and have intentions of adopting the same day unless there is a justifiable reason not to.
  • Dog/Puppy/Pre-Adopt Kitten Adopter Days are usually scheduled for Saturdays between 10am & 2pm. If you are intending to adopt, be prepared to make yourself available on the pre-set adoption dates. Other arrangements can be made on a case by case basis.
  • Cat/Kitten Adoptions are scheduled at a mutually convenient time for the Adoption Coordinator & the Adopter.

Can't Adopt? Foster!

Foster care allows dogs/cats to live in a home environment while awaiting permanent placement. A home environment is essential (less stress) for pets who are pregnant, nursing or still too young to be adopted. Apply below to learn more!
